    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

Burton HOPE’s ‘Rough & Real’ sleep out event takes place on Saturday 27th April 2019.

We're hoping to raise a record amount as our sponsored sleepers spend a night sleeping rough, replicating what it might be like to spend a night on the street. Although one night outside can in no way simulate homelessness, it will help to raise awareness and vital funds for those who face the realities of homelessness every day on our streets.

Join us to raise awareness and vital funds to help the most vulnerable in our community with the basics of life such as food, clothing, toiletries and essential necessities.

Burton HOPE is a not-for-profit organisation, operating 7 days a week and run entirely by the work of around 100 unpaid volunteers.

Every Saturday and Sunday evening between 6pm and 8pm we have a stand outside Burton Market Hall to allow homeless people and those in crisis to come and get the help they need. Food and drinks are available and individual care parcel orders are taken from each person to cover their specific needs. We also run outreach patrols throughout the week and offer a variety of support services.

We collect and sort food, clothing, toiletries and practical items for those in need

We make up and distribute approx. 60-80 care parcels each week. Parcels can include food, toiletries, sanitary products, clothing, sleeping bags and even tents

We collaborate with many organisations such as the council, police, hospital, housing associations, medical and mental healthcare providers, to provide practical assistance to those in need

We initiate, support and manage applications for housing, rehabilitation and welfare

We run awareness talks in schools, colleges and businesses

We supply local schools with sanitary products

This is a public event and anyone is more than welcome to join us – please visit the Burton HOPE Facebook page or our website to find out more.

Your sponsorship will help to raise awareness and vital funds to help the most vulnerable in our community.
