The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

The callum wylie foundation was set up by callums mother after his death, the aim for the organisation is to support and reach more young people with aspergers.

Callum wylie was an amazing adventure athlete, he excelled in mountain biking and skiing, he also had an amazing talent to play any song he heard on any instrument without sheet music. Callum has always been a friend of mine, from early on we went on numerous expeditions, as we got older this didnt really change expcept our expeditions got bigger and more dangerous. I thought I knew him better than anyone and always saw through his poker face, but towards the end he kept everything hidden. I never saw it coming.

After callums death his closest friends and family came together to support each other, this is when the Callum Wylie foundation was formed. As a result of this we have all been undertaking various adventure sports challenges, his mother is doing amazing cold water swims and races, his friends have been running and i will be kayaking.

I have decided to kayak around wales because kayaking scares me and for me to truly live up to callums legacy I should face that fear head on as he would, therefore i will be kayaking non stop around wales the full circumference of over 400 nautical miles.

The river Severn is not to be taken lightly. I waited a week for the right tide and still got smashed all the way to Goldcliff (Newport). I though it might get a bit easier from there on but it didn’t, the Bristol Channel tides and the winds from hurricane Helene had me so sea sick I could bearly stand when I arrived at Cardiff. But now incomes storm Ali, making progress painfully slow. Hopefully the weather will give me a break🤞

Today is day 8 and I’m almost getting fed up with wind directly in my face, but staying positive and pushing forward. Tomorrow is an interesting day I have been invited on a tour around Severn estuary rescue association base and some insight into the best way to get through!
