Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
We have been saving for the last 2 years to take our child to Disneyland.
Oscar was diagnosed with a heart stopping condition about 4 years ago. Since then 2 years ago he was diagnosed with autism. He loves watching Mickey Mouse and especially Donald Duck on the television, and has always gotten very excited at the Disneyland adverts.
We are not a wealthy, I am also disabled with another disabled child and are able bodied daughter. Although we have three disabled people within our family we consider ourselves extremely fortunate, and have always strived to have a fun and independent life.
We saved £2580 over the last few years to be able to take our family to Disneyland. This was kept in a safe in our house. Unfortunately a few weeks ago somebody broke into our home at 3am in the morning and stole all the money out of our safe. The police were called and unfortunately to date there are no Suspects. Several houses were done the same night.
The Burglar through a boulder through are patio door window, landing on some of our children's toys and destroying them. We have finally been able to replace the toys that were destroyed, but I am still struggling to raise the money for Disney.
Our little boy struggles with change due to his autism, and the change of toys was noticed and had huge effect on him. We were planning on taking them to Disney over December / January 2018/2019. But as you can imagine this is now on hold.
As said before we try to be as independent as possible, and it makes me feel sick asking for charity, but without the generosity of others I cannot see us being able to save this money up again in time.
Thank you to anybody that even reads this let alone anybody that donates. It means a huge amount to us.
