Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Hello, my names Emma Hazeldine and im the producer of the event at headrow house on 12th december. I decided to put on the show for a number of reasons, one was that i came across a wonderful woman called Lindsey Davies who came up with the idea to do THE HOMELESS SUPPORT, STAND UP PROJECT, she is putting on an event in her home town of Leigh, the project soon became populaur as the idea was simple but effective, put on a show, any kind of show and the processeds go to a charity or organization of your choice, in your home town. It soon became a National event with now 25 ish events happening all over, all raising money for homelessness.
why did i want to take part ?
Well its simple, I feel very lucky in my life and where i am but im also very aware it isnt the same for all, whatever reason that is due to, its still what it is and i believe that people need and deserve help to change and if i can contribute to something other than my own life and help share some compassion to others then that is only a good thing. Iv been doing burlesque for less than a year and in that time iv met some wonderful people and grown in confidance so this seemed like the PEEFECT opportunity to help raise some funds for leeds homelessness and learn some skills and more about producing a show. Win win
why pathways kitchen ?
I didnt know about this group when i first decided to do the event but as i reserched i soon became aware of them and what they do. Iv seen groups out and around leeds and always though it was a wonderfull thing and how id like to help but didnt know where to start, so when i saw that it was pathways kitchen, that is one of many groups that work directly with people on the streets, taking food and suppies out i KNEW the money that WE (i cant do it alone, YOUR HELP is needed) raised would be going where it needs to, i was blown away by there compassion and care and that 90% of stuff comes from there own pocket and the amount of time they put in to make everythjng come together. I went out on a tusday night with them meeting people and handing stuff out, it was very emotinal to hear peoples storys and to just be able to help a small bit.
You can pay for tickets through this go fund me page as ALL PROCEEDS are going to where they need to go, not on wages or paper work, juat okease make a note if your wanting tickets emailing out or making a donation
