Weʼve raised £40 to Help a Malawian, Ephrone Mhuna, graduate through college with a Diploma in Public Health.
- Funded on Tuesday, 14th August 2018
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Three years ago whilst in Malawi I came across a guy in the North of the country who was spending his Saturdays in a charity centre learning how to use a computer, he'd walk two hours each way from his village so he could educate himself. We started talking, shared lunch together, and then he kindly invited me to his village. We took a small boat to his family home overlooking Lake Malawi, where his grandparents lived with him and invited me to stay the night. Since then we've stayed in touch, and since I sensed a very genuine guy doing his best to elevate himself and support his family I wanted to help further his education.
Over winter I helped him through his first Semester at Mzuzu college, where he embarked on his diploma in Public health, but neither me nor his family can see him through his course. If anyone out there wants to help this amazingly hard worker and all round awesome guy then please get in touch. The fees are £150 per semester, he has five left over the next 2.5 years I believe. Ephrone is someone I resonated with and truly feel his heart is in the right place. If anyone would like in some way to assist him then he would be in a rare position to help both himself and his family out of poverty.
