Weʼre raising £5,000 to Help kickstart an organisation that helps bring people who suffer from Depression and/or Anxiety together and provides them with supoort.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
My name is Jordan Pinchbeck and I suffer with anxiety and depression.
I've struggled lately to talk to people and make new friends. I also find it difficult to leave the house if I'm not with someone or listening to music.
Depression and anxiety are two common illnesses that affects millions of people across the UK and are sometimes hard for people to talk about.
This is why I'd like to start a charity purely based on helping people deal with these illnesses. I came up with the idea of having a group that was specifically designed for people to come and meet each other, talk one on one with me and some professionals and maybe get some group activities planned where they can feel happy knowing that everyone around them feels the same way.
I for one would love to have this sort of thing up and running and would find it much easier to make friends knowing they suffer as I do and wouldn't judge me for being quiet or not very active.
As I'm only 24 and have no experience in setting up a charity the first thing I did was create a group on Facebook for people to join. It's still in its start up phase and I'm spreading the word as much as possible to get people informed of the service I wish to provide. But like all things it requires funding.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
