What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

I Can't quite believe my baby has turned 1!

The past year has seen her grow from a very unsettled poorly little girl into a happy, healthy and mischeivous little character, it has been truely wonderful to watch.

However on reflection of my pregnancy and the past year I am also filled with deep guilt, regret and sadness.

It has been a continuing battle with both pre and post natal depression and anxiety and without the amazing support of my wonderful family and friends as well as the the incredible input from the Perinatal services I have been lucky enough to access, I'm not sure I would be here to celebrate our amazing little girls birthday.

My appreciation of these supports I can't even begin to express, however I hope to turn this experience into something positive by raising awareness and funds for these services with a view of helping other people in a similar situation !

Any donations recieved will be split between the Grassroots Project and the Lanarkshire Perinatal Mental Health service, both which are close to my heart.

The Grassroots project " supports families who are expecting a baby and/or who have children under 5 years old who live in rural South Lanarkshire and who need extra help to improve their family’s health and wellbeing" . This project can assist families in numerous ways however my personal experince was being provided with support to venture out to social situations with my baby as well as also supporting me in feeling confident in leaving my baby in others care with supported creche sessions in preparation for my return to work.

The Lanarkshire Perinatal Mental Health service has provided me with invaluable professional support throughout my entire PND journey and has been nothing short of life saving. It is with their support I have been able to regain "normality" and has assisted in my return to work as well as supporting me in my role as a full time working mum. My gratitude to this service I can't even express!

Good luck Siobhan, what an amazing thing to do and thank you for sharing your experience. Being a new mum brings a lot of new pressure and worry and it’s often not spoken about. You are so brave x
