Story

My name is Phillip Gobey. I am 35yr Ambulance Technician from Aberdeen.

I have a passion for climbing and when my friend Mostafa Salameh (http://www.mostafasalameh.com) said he was taking on Everest Base Camp in April / May 2019 I knew this was a challenge I wanted to be part of.

As I work for the Scottish Ambulance Service I didn't want this to be ignored. My funding raising efforts will be to support the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance (https://www.scaa.org.uk ).
Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) responds, on average, to one time-critical emergency call out every single day. They are a national charity and receive no government funding, so rely 100% on donations from the public to fuel the life-saving flights.

Mostafa Salameh is only 1 of 13 people in the world to complete the Grand Slam (the 7 summits & 2 poles), he's a humanitarian, an activist, & Motivational speaker. And a dear friend.

All the monies raised will be sent to SCAA and a donation to the local services used by Mostafa and myself for this challenge. This includes the local sherpa's, food supplied and accommodation for the duration of the challenge.

Days Trekking: 13
Distance: 92km, 57miles round trip
Maximum Elevation: 18,200ft Kala Pattar; 17,500ft. Everest Base Camp
Starting Elevation: 9,400ft
Approximate Elevation Change: 13,900ft one-way

I am also looking for any clothing / company sponsorship. SCAA is happy to promote my challenge on their Facebook page with over 65,000 followers.

Good on you! A very worthy cause that we will hopefully never need but are so very thankful that it's there if we do! Good luck with the climb!
