Story

Assalāmu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullāhi wa barakātuh,

We have recently pledged to raise £5,000 for the Rohingya Maternity Project by Muntada Aid.

As we are all aware the Rohingya Muslims are the most persecuted community in the world, having one of the most extreme cases of ethnic cleansing taking place. Women and young sisters are being systematically raped one at a time, by number leading to severe psychological damage. Being forced to remember their rape every time they feed and carry their child. With what love? With what compassion? With what feeling?

My dear brothers and sisters, think of your own mothers, your own daughters, your own sisters.

More than 70,000 Rohingya women who have fled to Bangladesh are pregnant, many of which deliver these newborns whilst travelling- on roadsides, leaving them vulnerable to infections and diseases.

Permanent clinics are prohibited by the government, making Ante-Natal and Post-Natal treatment practically inaccessible in camps. The most basic of human rights are being denied. The need for maternity and Post-Natal care is a dire one, OUR mothers and babies are suffering.

Muntada Aid will work to provide clinics, maternity packs and most importantly psychological help for pregnant women or mothers of young babies. With over 48,000 births expected in overcrowded Rohingya camps this year, Muntada aid will be opening up specialist maternal centres to help our sisters and mothers in Islām, providing them with the aid they urgently require In Shā Allāh.

Your donations are bringing back hope and smiles to the traumatised children and dignity to the young pregnant mothers, and keeping them all warm in order to survive this difficult period.

We pray that your donations become a reason for you to enter Al-Firdaus❤
