Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Please help us to raise money to make our village safer for our children and all our residents. We are campaigning for 20s plenty and in order to do this we need to campaign first.
All campaigns need help with funding - posters, printed petitions, letters, post etc. Any other funds left over will go directly to the cause. Why are we campaigning?
Rusthall Village Community Groups in collaboration with Rusthall Borough Councillor Dave Funnell and his wife Angela Funnell are campaigning to Councillor Michael Payne, Cabinet Member of Kent County Council for Highways and Transport to reduce the speed limit through Rusthall Village to 20 mph.
The reasons for this are :-
We have a busy primary school in Rusthall plus two very busy pre- schools.
We also have many retirement homes and supported housing for the vulnerable and disabled.
Currently people use our village where our children play, people walk their dogs and the elderly or vulnerable walk to the shops as a short cut or rat run through from Southborough onto many other places. There has been too many near misses with children and we already have had one fatality in the village. This is one fatality too many!
Reduced speed limits of 20mph combined with the enforcement of Rusthall Community Speedwatch will cut the amount of speeding traffic going through our village making it safer for our children and for all residents.
20mph speed limits will make the village safer for all of us! Consequently we are asking all residents, residents’ families and friends, businesses, business users, visitors to the village in any capacity, and school users to sign this petition and show their support.
Our villagers and children deserve to be kept safe.
The casualty severity difference between getting hit by a car at 30mph and at 20mph is huge! It may mean life or death! 20mph zones have already lowered the casualty rate in other areas around Kent and our village could benefit too with enough support.
Speeding puts everyone in our community at risk and increases pollution from exhaust emissions which impacts the air quality in our environment.
We would like the whole of our village and community to be a safe and harmonious environment where parents and children are not afraid to walk to school and where elderly, disabled or vulnerable people are not afraid to go out due to speeding traffic.
In order for this to happen to do this We NEED your support and help with funding to help us make our village and our streets safer for everyone.
Please help us with funding to help us make our village safer.
