Story

Im a parent who's daughter currently attends a small rural lower school, which after over 130 years of service to generations of the local community is facing difficult times ahead. With government and local authority funding and support at an all time low we as a school are reaching out to you - to those who remember what it was like to make dens and mud pies in the garden without fear of reprimand, who went to a proper village school where you knew every other students name, to be encouraged to imagine, explore and dream as well as learn- we need your help to support our school, it's staff and most importantly the students-our children, this countries future, my world. Many thanks

Thanks to those of you who have donated so far. Please if you haven't already done so please donate whatever you can. Even if we all donated a £1 it would soon amount to a really helpful amount that would really benefit this school and its community. Just imagine in everyone in the village donated a £1, then asked friends and family to do the same. Crowdfunding allows large targets to be met without individuals having to make an uncomfortable pledge. As a community we can do this!

Huge thank you to all who have donated so far. This is probably one of those "If it doesn't directly affect me why should I help?" things. What if it was your school? Would you want to help? We live in a time when schools are seen more as a business than a education & life skills provider by those holding the purse strings. Shelton Lower School was rated Outstanding by Ofsted for Personal development, behaviour and welfare - something I, like many parents, think extremely important. If you can spare a few pounds please take a moment to donate.
