Story

A Gift of Hope

Every day 250 people begin to lose their sight. Here at Sight Concern Worcestershire, we understand everyone’s journey is unique. Our team is devoted to supporting individuals to shape their own journeys and walk that path with confidence and independence irrespective of their sight loss.

This Christmas we need your support more than ever to keep our vital services operating, ensuring that loneliness and isolation for those living with a visual impairment is a thing of the past, something we have all have become familiar with over the last 18 months.

• Just £15 will allow us to train one of our wonderful volunteers to provide vital practical and emotional support to enable clients to access the community and a friendly voice this Christmas.

• £25 pays for a low vision assessment, meaning we are able to prescribe magnifiers, enabling our clients to send and read those cherished Christmas messages.

• £50 pays for a digital technology training session to identify the right equipment and support someone to be more independent. Enabling people to send e-cards if they are unable to write Christmas cards or asking Alexa to play Christmas music and even giving an in person Christmas greetings to distant relatives/friends via video calls.

• £100 pays for a place on our Living Well With Sight Loss course, where individuals can learn about equipment that can make a fundamental difference in their journey adapting to living with Sight Loss, like how to turn the heating up with this winter and how to fill your home with those much loved Christmas songs.

So what will your gift be this Christmas; will it be the gift of hope? The team here at Sight Concern would be so grateful for your donations of any size and would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
