Weʼre raising £100 to help reinvigorate the planters of the Crossley Centre. We will also be contributing towards the centre's running of their social projects.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
We are Team Ward, part of the National Citizen Service (NCS), and we are partnered with the Crossley Community Centre - our social action project us the designing and painting of the four planters in the surrounding area. The planters are a staple of the community and they house a number of herbs, including chives, basil and rosemary. Nonetheless, they have been abandoned over the last four years and we want to reinvigorate them!
We have plans to decorate each of the planters with unique and distinct designs; the four seasons, cultural diversity (which is an integral part of the community), a celebration of Oldham featuring the Owl emblem, and one consisting of handprints of the residents of the local area - this way the local community can have direct involvement in our work. We believe the painting of these planters will be massively beneficial in that it will inspire those in the surrounding area to actively participate in the protection, presentation and betterment of the community; we particularly hope to reach out to the younger people in the area and inspire a generation.
We are raising funds to source paints and paintbrushes and from this point we will let our own creativity to be centre stage and we hope to leave our mark in Chadderton through this positive activity!
