If you’re volunteering, you may need some financial support to help provide supplies, support local workers and businesses and to protect the most vulnerable.
How to get started
Support your local community
If you’ve set up a community volunteer group or are interested in doing so but not sure about how to fund it, crowdfunding could be your answer.
Create a centralised pot of money and ask people to add their contributions towards food and essentials for the most vulnerable. Find out more.
Support people working in your industry
If you’re able to club together to support those who may have fallen on difficult times, any contributions (big or small) welcomed. We’ve already seen pages set up for musicians, comedians and theatre workers, coming together to support each other.
Freelancers such as fitness instructors, teachers and tradesmen could offer their work in return for a voluntary contribution via a crowdfunding page.
Support local businesses
Support businesses who are no longer able to open in your local area by creating a crowdfunding page to help them stay afloat.

Nextdoor
Nextdoor is a website that lets you keep up-to-date with what’s going on locally to you. Plus, you can offer your support to those in your community. For example, doing a shop for or having a phone call with an elderly neighbor, and offering your books or toys to a new home.
