For the fifth year running Debenhams is supporting Help for Heroes by entering a team in the Big Battlefield Bike Ride 2019 – the charity’s flagship fundraising challenge, covering 350 miles over 5 days of cycling.
The event takes place from 9th to 15th June, and commemorates the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings. Riding alongside fellow fundraisers and wounded, sick and injured beneficiaries, we will set off from Sainte-Mère-Église near Cherbourg, stopping at Omaha, Gold and Juno beaches before heading inland to visit Pegasus Bridge – site of the first glider landings just after midnight on 6th June 1944. From Caen the route then follows the path of the allied advance right through to Paris
Thanks to the fundraising efforts of previous riders (and to the generosity of friends, colleagues, business partners and the general public) we have raised £400,000 over the last four events, and with your help aim to take the toal past £½ million this year
