    Story

Theresa (known as Tink to many) is an inspirational young woman, she has strived to keep her independence as her sight has deteriorated.

She hasn't let this stop her, Theresa has lived alone with her 2 children for 3 years now, even moving to a new home with them last summer. Most recently, she has taken her passion for rock climbing, a sport she only started 2 years ago, to the next level.

Having always had 'poor sight" with nystagmus and 'beer bottle' NHS glasses; she learnt at a young age to fill in the gaps of what her eyes missed with her ears and more importantly her hearing...

In 2008, Theresa was registered severely sight impaired & diagnosed as having Leber congenital amaurosis. A genetic disorder, which was 'missed' as a child.

    FAST FORWARD 8 YEARS...

Theresa is now working with her 2nd guide dog and facing a world that is getting quieter. She has recently been diagnosed with having Ushers Syndrome, a genetic disorder that affects both sight and hearing. Theresa is finding life a real struggle and we want to support her to get the best of the best. As a Mac user through and through, it seems only right to aim for a hearing aid that can be altered, personalised and adjusted via an app for iPhone or iPad. Molly Watt gives her review; she has a different strand of Ushers Syndrome.

So, we have come together to enable Theresa to have a pair of ReSound Linx2 hearing aids http://www.leightons.co.uk/brands/resound-hearing-aids/

Theresa is working towards fundraising herself by also asking for sponsorship as she attempts to climb a famous London landmark, the cheese grater otherwise known as The Leadenhall Building. It is no mean feat as she will have to climb 17 lengths of rope at her local climbing centre each of which are 12m high in order to complete the challenge.

If you can spare a littler towards the funding of the hearing aids, Theresa will be very grateful without your help Theresa simply will not be able to afford this vital kit.
