In June, a team of 14 leavers from Maidwell Hall School are going climbing in Snowdonia for four days. Our challenge is to climb eight mountains over 3000ft - including Mt Snowdon.
Because there will be no backup, we will be carrying everything we need on our backs - including 2 litres of water, food for four days, tents and sleeping bags. Fully loaded, our rucksacks will weigh 40 pounds (which is a lot for adults - let alone 12 and 13 year olds!)
We are raising money for a charity called the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation (JDRF). We have chosen it because our friend Felix Holland-Bosworth - who is head boy of Maidwell - has Type 1 DIABETES, for which JDRF is determinedly seeking a cure.
