Thanks for visiting The Fabulous 40 – Fighting to Reverse Rett Team page.
My little girl was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome 5 years ago. Currently there is no cure or treatment for her or for any of the girls and women suffering with the relentless barrage of symptoms Rett brings. However, in the past 12 months research for the disease has seen incredible steps forward, providing the potential to finally give us the news we are desperately waiting to hear – that we have a choice to be able to help our Daughters be better, be well again.
This page includes links to some of the amazing fundraisers who joined the Fabulous 40 - Fighting to Reverse Rett team. It also includes donations given from very kind and generous people out there. At the start of 2013 I started recruiting to try and find a minimum of 39 other people to join me in committing to do a fundraiser, however big or small, for 'Reverse Rett' during my 40th birthday year. A 40 strong team with a target of £10K for the year.
By the end of the Fabulous 40 year in Feb '14, 56 people (family, friends, schools, groups, small businesses and a choir!) had in fact joined the team and our target smashed! The new target stands at £40K - well it had to be really! Though the Fab 40 year has officially finished, the fundraising hasn't. What we collectively achieved was incredible and I'll be forever grateful. Funds raised to date are already working in the vital research projects. But we're not there yet. Lauren still needs your help if she's to have a more hopeful future.
The Fabulous 40 turned out to be a remarkable group of people doing amazing things to try to make a difference. And they have.
By doing a fundraiser or donating to any one of these pages you are helping us reach our goal that much quicker. A heartfelt thank you, so, so much.
