GoCardless JustGiving Awards 2024

The JustGiving Awards are operated by Giving.com Limited (trading as “JustGiving”), a company registered at 5 Churchill Place, 10th Floor, London, United Kingdom, E14 5HU (referred to in these terms and conditions as “we”, “our”, “us”).

Please read these terms and conditions before nominating someone for an award, voting for a shortlisted nominee or attending the JustGiving Awards ceremony.

What are the Awards for?

JustGiving’s annual awards recognise outstanding contributions to fundraising by individuals and groups who have used JustGiving. (“Awards”).

The JustGiving Awards are all about recognising amazing stories and inspiring others to fundraise. The winner of each category will receive an engraved trophy.

Who can be nominated for an Award?

For all Awards, you can nominate someone if they have received a donation to their JustGiving page between 30/05/2023 and 11/05/2024. It does not cost anything to nominate, and you can nominate as many people (including yourself) as you wish. But please only nominate someone who you know will be happy to be nominated and will not object to you providing their information to us.

What do I need to include in my nomination?

All nominations must be received/submitted before 1pm on Thursday 11th April and include your name and email address. You also need to tell us the nominee’s name and the URL of their JustGiving page so that we can identify them, and to explain why they should win the Award for which you’re nominating them. Nominations that are incomplete or exceed the stated word limit cannot be accepted.

We reserve the right to verify the validity of nominations and to disqualify your nomination without notice if you tamper with the nomination process or do not comply with these terms and conditions. We do not accept any responsibility for loss of, or damage to, any nomination (including any failure to receive or transmit any nomination due to internet or website issues).

How will we decide who to shortlist?

All nominations received will be screened by a team of our staff, then handed over to a panel of celebrity judges and past winners to decide who our finalists are. The shortlisting process is at our complete discretion. In general, we will be looking for outstanding examples of fundraising that have clear objectives, creative and effective implementation and tangible, demonstrable results. We will also consider the structure, presentation, and clarity of each nomination, and we will shortlist three nominations in each category to be put forward to the public vote, with the exception of our Special Recognition Award, which will only have one. We reserve the right to change the number of shortlist nominations and to alter the title and/or number of categories at any time in our sole discretion.

How does the voting process work?

We open up a public vote on 1st July 2024. You will have the opportunity to make one vote in each category only. Voting closes on 16th August 2024.

The winner of each Award will be the finalist with the highest number of valid votes by the relevant closing date. Votes that are not submitted through the official voting form or using comments on JustGiving’s official social media channels will not be counted.

How will my nomination or vote be used?

The information provided by nominators, nominees and voters will only be used in connection with the Awards and for the purposes described in these terms and conditions, including picking the shortlisted nominees and winners of the Awards and promotional activities. We will not share your data with anyone except as necessary in connection with the Awards (e.g. the Awards Ceremony venue) or otherwise permitted by these terms and conditions. For further information on how we protect personal data, please read our Privacy Policy.

By making a nomination, you understand and accept that your name, your nominee’s name and the content of your nomination may be made public or used in the media, or in case studies of winners or shortlisted nominees. You are free to mark any information or sensitive parts of the nomination as ‘Not for publication’ and we will respect this. If you have been nominated for an Award and do not wish to be a nominee or for your information to be made public, please contact us and we will remove your name and page from the list of nominees.

If you submit a nomination or vote for an Award, we will keep in touch with you about the progress of the Awards process. If you do not want to receive these updates, you will be able to opt out of receiving them.

When is the Awards Ceremony?

Awards will be given during a celebration at the Roundhouse in London, on 18th September 2024 (“Awards Ceremony”). All shortlisted nominees will be invited to attend the Awards Ceremony. Winners will receive their Award at the Awards Ceremony or, if a winner is not able to attend the Awards Ceremony, we will send the Award to them. We reserve the right to refuse entry to the Awards Ceremony to any individual or group in our sole discretion.
