The future of fundraising

We asked 2,000 people across the UK about their giving goals for 2026 – and here’s the big takeaway: 1 in 4 are planning to set a fundraising target in the New Year.

When thinking about giving to charity, 28% more hope to donate more to charity than they did in 2025.

When it comes to fundraising challenges, 31% are keen to take one on in 2026.

When it comes to motivation, 30% said they’d be inspired to donate to a charity they’ve never supported before after seeing real stories of the people helped.

And when it comes to supporting causes in 2026 – health and medical research (32%), animal welfare (32%) and children/education (31%) are the top categories Brits plan to support.

These were followed by mental-health support (30%), homelessness and housing (29%), and environmental causes (21%).

To all the fundraisers, charities, donors, and supporters who were a part of these unforgettable moments: thank you.
