Over recent months myself, and a select few other students explored the possibility of holding a 24-Hour Basketball Match in order to raise awareness for Teenage Cancer Trust and Newman Holiday Trust. These two charities hold a very personal, and close to home attachment to those involved in this event.
On May 29th, 25 inspiring guys and girls will be attempting to complete a 24-hour Basketball Match here at Durham - Queens Campus. It is a mighty challenge for all the players and so I beg that you give generously. I promise that the knowledge that they have contributed towards raising a huge sum of money for two such worthy charities will be exactly what is needed to carry them through the cramp stricken final hours and minutes.I hope that the success of this event will establish it as an annual event, running alongside the 24 Hour Football Match. Together they will be an annual event, organised and run by students, raising huge amounts of awareness and money for inspiring charities each year and so again I beg you to give generously.
