We are all running (and some cycling) for Nancy who has Cystic Fibrosis. She is also coming with us, in her running buggy! She loves being out in it and this is a vital for her because exercise is crucial in keeping her well and helping her to live longer. By including her in all the events we do exercise will become as routine to her as brushing your teeth is to us all. Exercise is particularly important for people with CF as it prevents deterioration of the lungs and improves physical bulk and strength. Children with CF should be encouraged to take part in as much physical activity as possible - ideally types of exercise that make you out of breath such as running.As yet she cant run but by leading the way for her we are sure she will be joining us very soon! Nancy is the most amazing toddler, fun seeking but thoughtful beyond her age. We are biased im sure, but we have never met anyone that hasnt said the same about her. She continues to inspire and delight us and as a family and community of supporters and friends we never want to be without her.
Cystic Fibrosis affects 9000 young people in the UK, 1 in 25 of us are carriers and every child that is born in the UK is tested for it shortly after birth. The news that your beautiful bundle of warmth, love and light has this terrible incurable disease is life changing. But family and friends are united in helping to raise awareness and find a cure by fundraising, so We've joined together to raised money for our chosen charity, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. They are the only charity in the UK dedicated to funding research into finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis..a life limiting genetic disease that affects all the internal organs in the body and see's it sufferers on daily regimes of lots of medication and physio and inevitably transplant lists. .
