We did it! Huge congratulations to everyone involved for all your hard work!! See you next year:)
On September 11th, 2011, women from across the UK will be heading down to Hyde Park in London to join in the Adidas Women's Challenge. Most women will be participating in honour of a girl or woman that they know or a particular disease that has touched their lives.
We want to represent girls and women with Rett Syndrome.
Rett is the leading cause of severe disability in girls. It has similar prevalence to Cystic Fibrosis and yet not many people have heard of it. We want that to change.
Rett Syndrome devastates the lives of little girls all over the world as they are stripped of their speech, the use of their hands and their mobility sometimes in a matter of weeks or months. Rett wreaks havoc on the lives of these girls, on their families and their futures over a sustained period of ongoing medical complexities and increased disabilities. There is no cure for Rett Syndrome, yet astonishingly, the condition has been completely reversed in the lab.
RSRT UK works to speed the time it takes to translate these research developments into treatments and cures for our daughters living with Rett Syndrome today.
On September 11th, we will be gathering teams of mums, sisters, aunties, grandmas, cousins and friends to join together in honour of girls and women with Rett, who endure so much on a daily basis with the condition they wrestle. Please join us, or show your support by making a donation, however small and help us drive the research into a brighter future for our children.
RSRT UK has only one focus: research. The organisation is driven by families whose only interest is in accelerating treatment. Running costs are kept extremely low so that more of the funds you raise can reach the research that will deliver treatment for our children in their lifetimes.
Thank you.
