FUNDRAISING FUNDAMENTALS
Engage and inspire your fundraisers
Empower your community to raise money from their network on your charity’s behalf.
Here’s how to inspire your fundraisers to create their Fundraising Page, get their first donation, and raise the most money possible.
Page creation
This stage is about increasing the number of Fundraising Pages created for your charity or your event. Get as many Fundraising Pages as possible to help reach more people and attract more donations.
“The first thing we did was set up our JustGiving Campaign Page and share the fundraising link with runners so they could get their Fundraising Pages started as soon as possible.”
- Charlotte Brennan
Prostate Cancer Research

Page activation
Pages are considered active once they receive their first donation. This part of your campaign is about increasing the number of Fundraising Pages that receive donations on their page.
“We encourage fundraisers to get their page activated in Week 1. In Weeks 2 and 3, we tailor our emails based on whether they’ve received a donation or not. From there, they go into the main journey to keep everyone on board together.”
- Robin Plowman
Alcohol Change UK
“We introduced a required fundraising milestone – people needed to hit 50% of their individual fundraising target by January to continue on the team.”
- Georgia Akers
Spinal Research

Page value
Here’s where the fun really starts! Increasing page value (donations per Fundraising Page) for your campaign means raising the most money possible.
“Milestones help runners break down their target and make it feel a lot more manageable.”
- Polly Debnam
Barnardo's
“Our fundraisers loved having a virtual event in the months before London Marathon. We had a running coach to speak the past two years, and this has really made a difference.”
- Zoe Makings and Hayley Wessier
Leukaemia Care
