From September 9th until October 28th, as many of us as we can muster will be running, cycling and walking 5k a day to help speed treatment for Rett Syndrome.
5K a day may not sound like much but this challenge runs for FIFTY consecutive days. Those of us who live with Rett Syndrome are no stranger to this sort of relentless test of stamina and strength of will but keeping this going in and amongst the rest of the complexities of our lives will be the real challenge.
For our girls, the challenges are much greater. Our girls can't walk 5K, never mind run or cycle it. Many can't walk a step. Some can no longer stand. But it doesn't have to be this way. You can read more about Rett and the potential for treatment here: http://www.reverserett.org.uk/rett-syndrome
Thank you for helping us build a brighter future for our girls.
