Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On September 13, I'll be tackling my first ever half-marathon and I'm a little bit scared to say the least, especially considering where I was just a year ago...
At the start of May 2014 I weighed 16 and a half stone and now, less than a year later I'm a far trimmer 11 stone (ish.)
If you know me personally, its been hard to miss and I am quite proud of what I've done.
Thanks to changing my diet and exercising more I spent 6 months or so shedding the weight and am now back to enjoying my food again but not being daft and exercising regularly to make sure the weight stays off!
Part of keeping the weight off I know engage in quiet a lot of running and had always dreamed of doing the Great North Run but that was all it was, a dream, I was far too unfit to even begin considering it.
Anyway, now I am, taking it on.
As someone who attended university in Newcastle and has always loved the city, this is massive for me and I honestly can't wait to go with how daunted I am.
When I got my place the long debate began with which charity or charities to raise money for.
I went back and forth with a few for quite a while and have now settled on Save the Children.
There are various reasons and factors which brought them to my attention and made me want to do it but they just do amazing work around the world to make sure children are kept alive and give them a brighter future.
I really hope you can support me in this, for a fantastic charity and for that motivation I may need when the miles are adding up.
I'll keep you posted with updates over the coming months and thanks in advance for any donations!
