We train amazing hearing dogs to transform the lives of deaf people

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  I’m raising money for Hearing Dogs For Deaf People by going 'Deaf for the Day' on 22 September 2014.

These dogs are amazing - as well as alerting deaf people to important sounds and danger signals, they provide companionship and relieve the loneliness and anxiety that deafness often brings.

I will be carrying out my normal working day in a customer facing role at St Bride's Community Centre in Edinburgh but will be deaf from the moment I wake until I go to bed at night.  I will be fitted with special customised earplugs generously provided by the audiologist at Specsavers Hearing Centre in Livingston.

Please help me support the amazing work Hearing Dogs for Deaf People do and help make a massive difference to more lives.

I'll be working at St Bride's Community Centre in Edinburgh if you'd like to come along and see how I'm coping/ struggling on the day!  Also...

- 11am join us to learn some British Sign Language.
- 12 noon, we'll receive a visit from hearing dog recipient, Pat and his hearing dog Rocky.
- Action on Hearing Loss will be available to do hearing tests and provide information on their services.

Thank you,
Amanda :)
