Story
Thank you for visiting our team's Champions of the Flyway fundraising page.
Champions of the Flyway is a major new international bird race that is being staged in Eilat, Israel – home of one of the world’s most desirable birding destinations and famous migration spectacles.
Birding Ecotours are one of several international bird racing teams attempting to find, identify and log as many species as possible as they go head to head with other crack teams in an intense 24 hour contest to win the coveted title ‘Champions of the Flyway’.
While the racing will be light-hearted, our goal is serious - to raise conservation funding that will help the BirdLife International Partnership tackle the illegal killing of birds in Cyprus.
Our team members are: Chris Lotz, Trevor Hardaker and Jason Boyce.
Even though our team hails from the southern extremity of the Africa Eurasia Flyway, we still feel deeply connected by the extraordinary movements of birds that take place each migration season and greatly enjoy the incredible spectacle of birds arriving from Europe and Asia each year.
We are all passionate bird conservationists and are very proud to be able to participate in the truly epic Champions of the Flyway event in 2015. Please make a donation here to our team and, in so doing - help alleviate the dire challenges facing migrants passing through Cyprus.
If you'd like to stay in touch with all the action please remember to add your email when you donate so BirdLife International can keep you updated on the race and the all-important conservation action we'll all be delivering with your help.
