Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page,

Walking across the O2 dome is some people's idea of a jolly good day out but  to me it is a doom day. I hate heights, I hate bouncy surfaces( the walkway sways and vibrates) , I loathe being cold (  we are going up in February) and steep slopes or sudden drops are the stuff of nightmares. So why am I walking across the Dome ? Because I will have to do it once for 45 minutes but many children have to spend far longer collecting  dirty water in heavy pots every day. Roll Out the Barrel provides a solution for that with easily moved barrels and filter systems. £30 buys a barrel/filter system for a family which lasts for years.Half the money I collect will go to purchasing barrels. The other half will go to Polio Plus. 50p protects a child from polio and for every vaccine Rotary donates the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will donate 2 more.So £300 will mean 5 families get easy clean water and 300 children can be safe from polio. For that I will go "over the top" and count myself lucky to be able to do it.

About the charity

NO woman or child (as young as 4) should be forced to walk up to 5 miles daily to collect enough clean water just to survive. Help us provide millions of ROTARY ROLLER BARRELS and water filters for clean drinking water, instead of carrying jerry cans or buckets. CLEAN SAFE WATER IS THEIR RIGHT!
