Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
2013 was a difficult year. In the summer my grandmother, who we had been celebrating her 80th birthday with in April, fell at home and broke her hip. Following her recovery (and subsequent rebuild) she came home, but soon suffered a debilitating stroke. She was readmitted to hospital having lost the use of her right side, speech, sight in right eye and movement.
She gave it a valiant fight and was a true inspiration to us all (7 children, 20 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren). However, following a bout of pneumonia, she was taken from us and passed away in October 2013.
In September this year, I am running the Bupa Great North Run in memory of my Nanna, and in aid of the Stroke Association. Please donate to my page for this great cause, in memory of one of the funniest women of her generation. No matter how big, or how small your donation, every penny WILL make a difference, and together WE CAN make a difference to those affected by this terrible disease.
Research funded by the Stroke Association has the ultimate aim of making stroke a preventable and treatable disease, and improving the quality of life for people affected by stroke.
