We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Hi, thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On June 26th this year, Xav and I will be aiming to complete the Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. The challenge consists of climbing the highest mountain in each of Scotland, England and Wales in less than 24 hours (including the drive between each). Some might say a crazy task, the three peaks of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon total 36km hortizontal metres and 3000 metres vertically! As long as we don't get lost or fall off we aim to complete it in world record times! For more info. on the challenge, please visit: http://www.threepeakschallenge.uk/

There are a number of worthy causes out there, but cancer has affected people close to both of us, old and young. Teenage Cancer Trust in particular is a sensational cause as it helps young people who have been diagnosed with cancer aged between 13-24 and who have not had the opportunities myself and Xav have been lucky to have over these years so far. Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to providing specialist treatment and care for the 2600 young people between these ages diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK. They provide specialist units, with dedicated, specialist staff in NHS hospitals, to give young patients the best possible chance to beat the disease. Furthermore, patients are in a comfortable, age appropriate environment, where they can be individually supported and encouraged to continue what many of us consider to be a ‘normal’ life. All this is fully funded and built by Teenage Cancer Trust purely through donations and fundraising. As I am a member of the North East fundraising team for the charity and both of us students at Newcastle University, the money raised will be donated to the North East Teenage Cancer Trust Board, where the charity has beds in wards at the Royal Victoria Infirmary and Freeman hospital.

Any donation, little or large, will be appreciated immensely and we are unable to thank you enough.

P.S. If you are kind enough to donate, please don't forget to click 'yes' to GiftAid!
