Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page.

So it originally started with me, Rachel, as a runner wanting to challenge my fitness further and asked Leanne if she wanted to join me.  Leanne was also looking for her first challenge and agreed – although Leanne thought I was actually talking about the London Moonlight Walk!..... and to her surprise, a few days later, Leanne realised she had just committed herself to a grueling cycle ride!

We started our training journey in September 2014 when we registered for the Nightrider and we are now really pushing our training hard with just over 2 months to go.

You can find us most lunchtimes in the Bishop Grosseteste Sport & Fitness Centre and at the weekend on our bikes trying to get the ‘miles in our legs’ and getting used to the saddle!

The Nightrider Challenge sees us starting at 10.35pm and finish at the Lee Valley Velopark in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (east London) and we are hoping to complete the 100km distance within 5 hours.

Our Nightrider challenge has been supported by Rob Jones, Director of Enterprise on behalf of Bishop Grosseteste University and we will be raising money for the BG Foundation Fund.

Any donations will be gratefully received from us both

Love

Leanne & Rachel
