I am delighted that the Chlidhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) has given me a place in the London marathon on 26 April 2015 and proud to be representing a charity our family has been associated with for over 30 years. CHECT does brilliant work in raising awareness of the signs and symptons of eye cancer in children to prompt earlier diagnosis of the disease. It helps fund research and offers one-to-one support for families affected by the disease.

Running the London Marathon has always been a distant ambition of mine and not taking up running until about 60 years of age, it seemed a missed dream. I have now completed two half marathons and have started the hard training for this event.

With the help of friends and family I am hoping to raise £2,000 for this worthy cause.
