Ok. So i've been thinking about doing this for a few years and have decided now seems like a good time as i'm finishing my masters and my football destroyed knee doesn't have too much life left in it. I also really need a long holiday to cure my itchy feet.

I'm going to try and cycle from Prudhoe bay on the northern tip of Alaska to Ushuaia, right at the bottom of Argentina down the pan am highway. I've a pretty tight budget so will be living in a tent and probably surviving mainly on cereal bars for the first 6 months and taco's for the next. There's gonna be a lot of wilderness, bears, a very sore bottom, corrupt borders and challenges to contest but I'm excited for this prospect.

I'm mainly doing this for personal reasons but would also like the opportunity to raise some money for SANE - a mental health charity. From my social work studies and work this is a cause I feel passionate about and it would be good if I could raise some awareness too.

If you would like to donate for my attempt then that would be great for the charity. It would also be a good motivator for me. Moving on everyday and being away from my family and friends will be the biggest challenge so your donations would mean a lot in that way too.
