Story
This was to be the last challenge my lovely sister Vera undertook, as she has just passed away at St Rocco's on the 13 of September 2015.
A year ago, Vera found out that she had cancer. Not phased by this and whilst in St Roccos hospice for the first time in June 2015 whilst recovering, Vera mentioned that she had always wanted to take part in an organised run, one of the items on her bucket list.
Leading up to the 31st of August, Vera was in a huge amount of pain and could only manage a tiny amount of food on a daily basis. Vera determination got her to the start line, in her wheelchair, pushed by me walking / running we completed the St Roccos 3k colour fun run.
3k might not seem a long way but do need to bare in mind that Vera has lost use of her legs and was having to cope with the severe pain from the cancer and so this is her marathon challenge.
Please help Vera and I say thank you to St Roccos for the wonderful help they have provided on all 3 occasions she has been there and for the countless times over the last 30 years they have helped and made each individual feel human, dignified in the care and felt love in their final days, weeks and months with us.
