We provide outdoor learning bursaries to allow young people to share adventure

Story

I have decided to walk from Lands End (the bottom of England) to John O' Groats (the top of Scotland) by myself for OOLT (Oxfordshire Outdoor Learning Trust). I chose this charity because I feel that every person, young, old, able bodied or disabled should have the chance to experience the outdoors as I have. Recently I worked in an outdoor centre called Yenworthy Lodge in Devon/Somerset and loved every minute of it. Unfortunately these centres are under threat through lack of funding. Not only does donating help these centres but also helps the people who can't afford to go to these centres. Please check out their website and see what they're all about! http://oolt.org.uk/

I am going to leave on May 4th and it should take me two to three months. I am trying to also cover as many major peaks in England as I can (Scafell Pike as an example). The distance is 1200 miles (1900 km) and I will camp each night I can to limited my effect on the environment. I would be so happy if I got anywhere near my target of £2500 and any amount you give I and OOLT would be so grateful for!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you for your contribution, whether big or small.

OOLT promotes Outdoor Learning to schools, families and companies but more particularly provides bursaries for Oxfordshire disadvantaged children & young people, to enable them to join outdoor adventure courses with their peers. In 2018 & 2019, we have supported 36 young people from 18 schools.
