Story
Within the last 8 months, my wife Norma has been diagnosed with and being treated for breast cancer, likewise my brother-in-law Phillip, with cancer of the oesophagus. In addition, the wife of one our oldest friends Stephanie contracted liver/spleen/abdomen cancer. All are receiving all or some of their treatment at Clatterbridge Hospital.
The medical staff at the hospital have been brilliant in every aspect of their diagnosis, treatment, support and after-care which is still ongoing.
In appreciation, a small group of "mature" friends and I are cycling between the Humber Bridge to the Runcorn Bridge via the canal system., thence along the Mersey River waterfront to the Liver Buildings, to raise funds for such use as the Hospital considers appropriate in helping to combat this pernicious disease.
The ride is approximately 162 miles in length, with two overnight stops. The riders and support crew are paying all their own expenses.
Needless to say, any donations of whatever amount will be gratefully received on behalf of those who will hopefully benefit from your support.
