Event: Virgin London Marathon 2015, on 26 April 2015
We are on call 24/7, 365 days a year to provide mountain search and rescue.

Story

All mountain rescue teams in the uk are manned by volunteers who wish to give something back. Rescues and call outs range from fallen climbers on a mountainside or crag to searching for missing and vulnerable persons who have hit a bump in their life's, to assisting the ambulance  service during this winters bad weather.

personally for over 15 years had a dream of joining a mountain rescue team and in 2014 this dream finally came true.  In December of that year I qualified as a full team member with Buxton mountain rescue ( 2nd busiest team in the Peak District).  For our team alone we require in the region of £32,000 each year to stay operational.

For my live of things adventure mountain rescue England and Wales kindly asked me to join a band of fellow rescue brothers and sisters to run The London marathon on behalf of them.. I was honoured.

Dig deep as we know things are a little tight, so every Pennie does count.  For e.g. £75 will provide diesal for a teams land river 👍

About the charity

Mountain rescue team members are on call every day, of every month, of every year. Whatever the time, day or night. Whatever the weather. They do it voluntarily. They do it without question. At no cost to the casualty. And it's thanks to your generosity, they can continue saving lives. So thank you.
