Story

To give us a pound just text PARI77£1 to 70070 thank you

On the evening of Friday 26th September 2014 , I set off from London's Marble Arch and ran through the night the 87 miles to Dover,  then swam 22 miles across the English Channel to France and cycled 180 miles from Calais to arrive at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris in the early hours of  Tuesday September 30th 2014, becoming the fastest woman and third fastest person ever to complete The Enduroman Arch to Arc, in aid of MS Trust.

When my friend Simon was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 3 years ago, I wanted to believe that it was some kind of mistake. But it wasn't. Watching Simon cope with each blow that the MS has dealt him, and seeing his wife Sara’s dedication and incredible resourcefulness was a lesson in humility. Add to that my godson Jack and his little brother Billy growing up into fantastic little boys and the Malyons have taught me a lot about getting on with life. Living with a condition and not being defined by it.

Early on, I decided that I wanted to do something to raise money for MS Trust by completing some kind of endurance challenge. MS Trust is a charity that helped to support Simon and his family right from the start of his illness and so it seemed like a logical choice.

The support from friends, colleagues, family and people I had never even met during training and the event itself was overwhelming and kept me going when at times I thought I might not make it. Not only that, it has raised money for a great charity in order that it might be able to continue to providing support to people living with MS now as well as the Simon and family's of the future. Thank you thank you and please don't stop donating ( even though, if you don't mind, I'm off for a little rest)! !
