CF Soccer Sevens - In memory of Anders Gibson
Fundraising for Butterfly Trust (Cystic Fibrosis)
Story
Funny, kind, generous, determined beyond belief - Anders Gibson was a remarkable man.
Anders was placed on the waiting list for a double lung transplant due to being in the end stages of Cystic Fibrosis. Due to the generosity of his donor and their family, he finally received that call on 6th April 2014.
Sadly Anders developed complications after the transplant and after a heroic battle - where he joked, flirted and remained positive to the very end - Anders died peacefully on the 19th May, surrounded by his family.
Anders had organised a Soccer Sevens tournament every year in aid of Cystic Fibrosis charities. He had already scheduled this years event, and after joining Team Glasgow, had also enrolled our help.
Team Glasgow, with the help of Anders friends and family, will be running this event in memory of Anders. We have decided this year to have one fundraising page for all the football teams to share, so we can join forces and raise as much money as possible for the Butterfly Trust - as chosen by Anders.
