Story
On September 27th 2014, Myself, Millie, Danny, Andy & a few friends are (attempting!) to scale Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike & Snowdon within 24 hours to raise money for one of mine & Millie's oldest friends & BRAVEST person we know, Ruth Haslam.
In January this year, at the age of only 23, Ruth suffered a major stroke caused by a bloodclot on her brain, and as a result has developed 'Locked In Syndrome', leaving her aware of what is going on around her, but unable to speak, move, or eat. Ruth's life since that day has been a daily run of physiotherapy, speech therapy, & communicating with her eyes using a 'Tobii eye gaze'.
Millie & I have known Ruth for our wholes lives, and to see something as tragic as this happen to a person we love so much is devasting, but she has coped INCREDIBLY & we are so proud. Despite all that has happened, she is just as determined & motivated as she ever was.
All money raised is for the C1 neuro rehabilitation ward, where Ruth is currently being cared for at Chapel Allerton Hospital in Leeds, which is part of the Leeds Teaching Hospital Charitable Trust.
Donations can be made through this page, or via text. Send the code CMDA to 70070.
All money donated on this page or via text goes straight to the charity!
Thank you all for your support!!
