Story
After an unsuccessful ballot entry to the London Marathon, I had resigned myself to not running the race in 2015. However, I was offered a fantastic opportunity of a place by Mind, more specifically the Bromley and Lewisham branch.
Mental health is often overlooked in society despite affecting one in four individuals. Mind helps people with a range of presentations from common mental health problems, like low mood and anxiety, to more severe and enduring mental health difficulties. Bromley and Lewisham Mind offers support to individuals in the region and does so through a number of services such as the Dementia Support Service, the Community wellbeing Service and Bromley Working for Wellbeing.
Whilst Bromley and Lewisham Mind does receive some income and support from the Government, clearly this is not sufficient to help all the individuals affected in Bromley and Lewisham. I am therefore running to raise funds and to help give something back into the local community where I live.
