Story
Please take a minute to read my story & how a brain tumour changed my life just 9 months ago.
April 2015 - It first started last year when I had a seizure at home, I was happy, healthy & had just become a daddy. I was taken to hospital, and as this had happened a few months previous, they did a routine head scan & spotted something.
I was discharged late Saturday night & went to watch the London Marathon as I did every year and I jokingly said "if everything's ok with my scan results tomorrow, I'm going to do this next year"
Monday morning came & I was given the most dreadful, gut wrenching & soul destroying news I could have ever imagined.... I had a brain tumour. I was 30 years old with a 3 month old baby daughter and all I could think was why has this happened to me?
As the weeks went on I had numerous tests & scans and was booked in to have major surgery to remove as much of the tumour as possible.
June 22nd - I was in surgery for over 6 hours, I came round to a cracking headache but great news from the surgeon that everything had gone to plan & that he had managed to remove over 95% of the tumour with the recovery taking 12 weeks.
9 months on & needless to say my journey has been a physical, mental & emotional one but I'm now fighting back to health.
I will need to have regular scans for the rest of my life to monitor any new growth but with this in mind still hope to make a full recovery from the op.
Without the Help & expertise of all the Drs/nurses/surgeons /technology/friends & family I may not have been so lucky
This is where you can all HELP to raise awareness for one of the biggest killers in under 40's.
Please donate as generously as you can & please be there on the day to support and shout out encouragement as you see me on my 26 mile marathon run through London!
Thank you
