Story

As some of you may have already seen via Facebook, I sadly, after much deliberation and upset had to suspend the rest of my challenge due to ill-health. I did make it all the way to Lands End after cycling approx 500 miles in 7 days!

Anyone who knows anything about me or the condition Dyspraxia will know that this decision didn't come easily and will also know how tiring cycling 500 miles within 7 days is, especially for those with Dyspraxia, plus the added tiredness from being physically ill.  But At least I tried!!!!!

I would like to apologise if anyone feels like I have let them down...

I would also like to thank everyone who has supported me, before, during and after the challenge and thank everyone for their donations and kind words.

A quick count up later should reveal that i still managed to raise approx £1200, just a little short of my initial target. (This will be updated and verified as soon as it has been checked.)

The kind words I have received from people who I have never met before have been wonderful and awe- inspiring for possible future challenges/events.

Once again thank you to each and everyone of you for your support. Keep an eye out for the total sum raised!!!

So I've now graduated from uni and my 2000 mile cycle challenge starts July 20th 2015. Just 5 days to go!!!!!!!!

Cycling around the country raising much needed awareness of Dyspraxia

Cycling from Sheerness to Brighton to Southampton-Lands End-John O'Groat to Hertfordshire after I graduate  from Southampton Solent university.

I am passionate about  raising much needed funds and awareness of the condition, the foundation and the support that is available out there to people like me and would eventually like to open local support groups across the country!!

Having a diagnosis of Dyspraxia really did change my life. It meant i had a reason why i found every day task more difficult than my friends and people of a similar age. it helped take away some of my anger and frustration, but it hasn't stopped me achieving the things i've wanted to. Its just taken me longer. (Dyspraxia is not an excuse to not do something its a reason why we might find it more challenging and why it might take us longer, but we will and can achieve our goals eventually.)

Although i still struggle to write legibly, find using cutlery difficult and have days where i just seem to be incredibly clumsy and un-coordinated. i've learned to manage these things. What still makes me frustrated is the lack of knowledge out there of this condition and the struggle parents have, to get a diagnosis for their child. Therefore my aim is to raise as much funds and awareness as possible to hopefully change this and get more support and activities in place for kids that are like me. Not only in educational establishments, but also within local community's.
