Story

Hi Guys.

I'm Holly Kirkby. I'm 17 years old and live in north wales.

In 2003, my mum's world was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition of widespread pain and profound fatigue throughout the human body. As like most illnesses every individual is targeted through different levels and stages. Unfortunately, my mum suffers severely from Fibro meaning the past 12 years of her life have practically been stolen from her. Fibromyalgia has prevented my mum from doing the most important things for any parent, such as providing for her family, participating in days out however their just the big things.

The past couple of years my mum has lost the ability to do the tasks most of us take for granted everyday, such as getting out of bed and getting changed every morning. Fibromyalgia stole that from my mum.

Walking, Lifting, Bending, EVEN EATING can be a daily struggle for her nowadays.

For mum this is affecting her in every stage of life, physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially.

Fibromyalgia has no cure, YET. I am determined to change this or at least help in the smallest way possible. I can't sit back and watch my mum suffer in her bed day in, day out anymore. I can't make a cure, or magically get my mum and all other sufferers better. However, that doesn't mean i can't raise awareness and money for Fibro.

I have decided to do a Sky dive for the Fibromyalgia Association Charity which i am hoping to do July 2016.

My mum is my absolute world, and one day I hope to be able to see her up and about and living her life to the best aspect and quality she should have been for the past 12 years. My mum is currently bedridden. No one will stop me or my family in getting my mum the cure or best treatment. The hurdles so far are immensely high and challenging, but the prize at the end will hopefully be outstanding.

If yourself or a family member are suffering from Fibromyalgia, I'm diving for you and your families as well. It affects the family as well as the victim and none of you are alone. Together we can beat this.

Until then mum, keep fighting and making us all so proud. You're my inspriation and you're strength and courage to carry on everyday knowing the pain's and struggles ahead amazes me.

My hero.

I ask you all to sponsor me in my challenge, the smallest donation is appreciated so as a community we can hopefully make a difference to my mum and other sufferers future.

A future without Fibromyaglia is my aim.
