Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

As some of you will know I have decided to put myself through the sublime of yet another Marathon. Only this time, I'm racing for a charity that has done some fantastic work and provided some great support to a good friend of mine. Last year a very good friend of mine, Gemma, was diagnosed with a Grade II brain tumour. We were the typical hypochondriacs who at Uni would joke about a headache being a tumour so you can imagine the shock when at the age of 28; Gemma was told that she actually has a tumour. Gemma was treated at Queen's on the 'Molly Lane Fox  Unit’. She received great care and was given lots of support. The tumour has been life changing for Gemma and whilst she's made a positive recovery there are a lot of life changes that she's had to make. The Molly Lane Fox Unit would not exist but for the funding and support provided by the 'National Brain Appeal'. They are a fantastic charity and people in Gemma's situation rely on the support of charities like this to guide them and help them understand their diagnoses.

Further, the charity doesn't only support those with tumours but funds and supports research into all kinds brain related health issues including two which are close to my heart hemiplegic migraine (Sarah) and hydrocephalus (B).

I don't have much money to donate or support the charity myself, but I can run and it would mean a lot to me, my friend Gemma, her family and all of those individuals who look to this charity for support, if you could help me reach my fundraising target.

Thank you in advance!

Mark
