Action for Children is our chosen charity.  We feel passionate about helping children and young people who suffer from neglect, abuse and deprivation and the impact it has on their lives.  Every child needs love and a stable environment in which to be happy and prosper.

Action for Children offer a wide range of services for children in care, disabled children and young people and they give support to families to help them through difficult times.  Their research, experience and knowledge means they can tackle the issues faced by the UK's most vulnerable and neglected children and young people.

Our fundraising story began when we decided we wanted to lose weight.  As a middle aged couple, we felt it was time to start thinking seriously about our health and how we could improve our well-being and fitness.  We set goals for our weight loss and have now achieved our target, losing four stone between us.  We adopted a low carbohydrate diet in order to lose this weight, but found searching for information laborious.  As a web designer and programmer, Justin came up with the idea of creating a website to share our story and assemble all the information we had taken time and trouble to source over the months.  Our motivation in doing this was to help others who not only wanted to lose weight, but wanted to keep the weight off forever. A low carb diet is now a lifestyle change for us and we both feel healthier and younger.  We are happy to share our experience and knowledge and in doing so raise funds for Action for Children.
