Story

On 26th February 1943 William Finden was captured at the Battle of Sidi Nsir in Tunisia, He was T.A soldier in the 5th Battalion Royal Hampshire Regiment (128th infantry brigade).

We are planning to re trace his prisoner of war (POW) steps. We will start at Naples and walk from there into Germany. We will be going to various POW camps he stayed in along the way, following the spin of Italy.

When we reach Germany we plan to walk from Stalag VIIIA to the heart of Berlin. This is to commemorate the soldiers that fought alongside William Finden, that had been put into the “workers camps” and were made to march into Berlin as apart of the “longest march”.

We will the fly into Tunisia and lay a reef at Beja where there is a memorial for the fallen who fought in North Africa.
