London 20-mile HACK · 15 September 2012 ·

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

So what's this about?

Short story

In case you're at work or in a rush, here's the short story.

We're taking part in the London 20-mile HACK on 15th September 2012 to raise money for the NSPCC & Childline and we'd really appreciate your support.

HACK stands for Hike Against Cruelty to Kids (HACK) and it's a series of charity challenge walks taking place in stunning locations across the UK.

Our aim is to raise £1200. So far we've managed to raise £420, but have a long way to go to reach our target.

Please help us reach the target by sponsoring us. Click on the 'Donate' button above.

We would really appreciate a donation from you, however big or small. It's for a great cause and your money will go towards helping vulnerable children all over the UK.  It will mean a lot to the kids who need our support.

Wish us luck for the walk and please do donate what you can.

If you can spare a few minutes and want to find out a little more about the London HACK, please read on.

Long Story

Preventing cruelty against children is something very close to my heart. I’ve supported childrens charities, mainly NSPCC, ever since I started working (over 18yrs now) and as well as regular donations, I always try to get involved with charity events.

Last year we intended to do a sponsored walk from Uxbridge to Mile End (approx 21 miles) to raise money for the NSPCC. Unfortunately that didn't happen as organising the event on time, and working out the logistics, proved difficult for us due to being so busy in the summer with weddings. We even asked others to organise it for us, but they were busy as well.

So this year, instead of trying to organise our own event and miss out on another charity event, we decided to join the London HACK 2012 organised by the NSPCC. No, it's not the kind of hack you're thinking of!

What the heck is HACK?

HACK stands for Hike Against Cruelty to Kids (HACK) and it's a series of charity challenge walks taking place in stunning locations across the UK.

Walking distances range between 10 and 25 miles and feature picturesque views, from majestic hills, lakes and landscapes, to the sights of the city of London, making each one a unique walking experience.

The London HACK starts and finishes at the Hays Galleria on Saturday 15th September. The 20-mile walk (6-7hrs) will take us past some of the capital's most iconic landmarks, including the Tate Modern, the London Eye, Buckingham Palace and the Royal Parks, and help raise vital funds for projects and services for vulnerable children.

Help us Help them!

We hope to raise a modest £1200 between the two of us...more if we can.

And this is where you come in. Please help us reach our target by sponsoring us for the walk.

Every year the NSPCC relies on public donations for around 85 per cent of their funds. Every penny of sponsorship raised, can make a massive difference to children’s lives. Your support will transform lives for the better so please dig deep and donate now!

All donations are being collected via our JustGiving page: http://www.justgiving.com/jayhack ( I love the url that was available ;-))

Join us on the walk!

So many of you follow our work and your praises encourage us to produce better images every time. It would be an absolute honour to meet you in person and raise money for helpless children together. So why not join us on the walk? :-)

If you're up to the challenge and want to walk with us, just give us a call or email us at charity@jhoque.com, and we'll add you in as part of the J.Hoque Photography team.

Phone registrations close on Friday 14th September 2012, so do get your name down if you think you can support the charity.

You'll have to pay a £20 registration fee to NSPCC. More info can be found on their website by Clicking Here.

We hope to see you there. If not then wish us luck and please do donate what you can. It will mean a lot to the children who need our support.

And please tell as many people as you can about the London HACK and see if you can get them to join us. Share this post on Facebook, Twitter and any other social network that you use.

Thank you in advance.
