#Laugh4Lungs is a social media campaign that aims to use the power of laughter to increase global awareness of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). In addition, we want to raise money for leading COPD charities across Europe, such as the British Lung Foundation.

COPD is a chronic disease that represents the fourth most common cause of death globally, affecting over 200 million people worldwide.  Life with COPD is difficult. Due to shortness of breath, patients often find it difficult to perform everyday activities. This can have a negative effect on many aspects of their life, leaving them feeling trapped, anxious, depressed and isolated.

To join us in the battle for breath against COPD, simply laugh, share and donate from the 12^th of November 2015 onwards. Film a video bursting with laughter; all you need is a smartphone and a sense of humour. Upload it to your social channels and share. Remember to hashtag your post with #Laugh4Lungs, tag your friends and encourage them to create their own videos. Spread the word as much as you can! Finally, make a charitable donation and let our chosen COPD charities continue their great work. Let’s make a difference and remind people living with COPD that they aren’t alone.

The British Lung Foundation will invest donations in planning and delivering a range of activity in order to tackle the health inequalities faced by people with COPD in the UK, through services, support, campaigns and information, in order to help prevent COPD, ensure early diagnosis and better health outcomes, and improve quality of life for people with COPD.
